Happy Thanksgiving#John Williams | November 23, 2017
It has been a year since my last Thanksgiving. This year I can say that I am in a much better place than last year. If I were to be honest, don’t we tend to look at our situations first? How about we not only give thanks for ourselves, but give thanks to God for the blessings and favor that He has given to others?
Indeed, isn’t there someone in our lives that God has blessed that we can also thank Him for? I can recall a gentleman at work who has been working at my company as a contractor for quite some time. He has a wife and daughter. He was promoted to a direct hire position that affords him a better salary and benefits for his family. Why should we give God thanks for what He does for others you might ask?
We might remember that there are always spiritual principles in play. Like the law of sowing and reaping: Gal 6:7 and the law of reciprocity: Luke 6:31. The creator of all things is good, and when we recognize His goodness to others, He will extend His kindness to us.
So on this Thanksgiving Day, let us give God not only thanks for what He has done for us in our prayers today, let us also include what He has done for others. Happy Thanksgiving!
