Happy New Year – Be Thankful For The Little Things

#John Williams | January 2, 2018

It is 2018. If your 2017 was disappointing, you’re not alone. I had many high hopes last year as well as disappointments. The one thing I try to do is to be thankful for the blessings I received. I’m not yet in the place where I give thanks for the bad. In fact, I would prefer not to give any more energy than I already have.

I do know that nothing positive will come out of any negative, whether thoughts, actions, words, etc. I have a time of devotion each morning, and I read Bible scriptures, pray and listen. In these last few weeks, I was able to live the life of a professional writer. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it is one of my dreams. However long I will be able to do this, I give God thanks and praise for each day, one at a time. Perhaps he will bless me to do it fulltime. Until then, I appreciate the small things.

At the beginning of this year, may I suggest that you take the time to remember the small things that you were able to enjoy? Perhaps like me, you’re believing for greater things to happen, but along the way are those little successes that are also significant. Be thankful for those in the meantime. They just may be the precursor to the bigger things and greater opportunities.
